New Delhi, June 21 — In a spirited observance of Universal Brotherhood Day, the Red Cross Society of India conducted multiple blood donation camps across Northern India. The initiative reflects the organisation’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian service and public health.
One of the major camps was held at Freemason Hall, Janpath, New Delhi, where around 55 volunteers came forward to donate blood. The event was part of a coordinated effort involving a total of seven camps set up across the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Kushwant Singh Rekhi, a representative of the Regional Grand Lodge of Northern India, highlighted the organisation’s expansive network and its consistent work in welfare activities. “The organisation has numerous branches throughout the country and is dedicated to helping those in need. Today’s camps are a testament to our collective effort toward the service of humanity,” he said.
Mr. Rekhi also emphasized the Red Cross Society’s ongoing contributions to healthcare support for underprivileged communities. “We have been active for many years, regularly organising free medical health check-ups, including eye surgeries, for those who cannot afford proper treatment,” he added.
The blood donation drive not only provided an opportunity for individuals to contribute to a life-saving cause but also underscored the spirit of brotherhood and compassion that Universal Brotherhood Day aims to promote. Volunteers, local residents, and members of various community groups participated actively, making the event a success.
Medical teams ensured all safety and health protocols were followed. Donors were also given post-donation refreshments and medical advice.
The Red Cross Society of India, renowned for its emergency response, healthcare support, and disaster relief services, continues to expand its reach by involving local communities in such meaningful initiatives. Events like these serve to inspire civic responsibility and foster unity among citizens.
As the nation marks Universal Brotherhood Day, the Red Cross Society’s efforts stood out as a reminder that acts of kindness and community service remain the cornerstone of a compassionate and inclusive society.
