Working Journalists of India Demanded for immediate formation of New Media Commission and Media Council at Chandigarh meeting

Working Journalists of India has demanded the formation of the third media commission immediately from the central government. It was also demanded to dissolve the Press Council of India and make a Media Council. The union leaders also urged journalists of digital media and online media to give government recognition and give government advertisements to their portals. Today the meeting of Chandigarh Unit of Working Journalists of India was held in Arya Samaj Sector 7B Chandigarh while the meeting of journalists of Punjab and Himanchal Pradesh was held at Chandigarh Press Club Sector 27. In both these meetings, the journalists of Chandigarh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh raised the problems of their respective states with the union. Working Journalists of India assured to solve their problems. Advisor to Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, Surendra Verma introduced journalists from different states. National President Sanjay Upadhyay said in his address that Working Journalists of India is the voice of journalists. This union is the protector of their rights. The union has been raising the demands of journalists well with the governments for the last several years. He is trying to get their demands resolved completely. Describing in detail about the upcoming programs, General Secretary Narendra Bhandari said that now the union has reached many states. This is a nationalist union. His main goal is to solve the problems being faced by the journalists of every state of the country. Every journalist can put his problems before the union without any hesitation. Dr Vinod Kumar Sharma was elected as the President of Chandigarh Unit and Sunil Kumar as General Secretary. Ravindra Talvad, Prem Vij, and KK Sharda were appointed patterns. Prakash Chandra Sharma and Pradeep Shukla have been appointed as Senior Vice Presidents, Parson Burman as Vice President, Pradeep Sharma as Media Secretary, Vinay Sharma and Rakhi as Secretary. Advocates Davesh Modgil and Karan Shukla have been appointed as legal advisors. On this occasion Nikhil Kalra, Pravesh Chauhan, Tripti Kiranjit Kaur, Shiv Gautam, Rakesh Walia, JS Sodhi, Rajkumar Verma, Sudhir Sood, Tinku Bhatia Nitin Garg Nikhil Kalra, Harjinder Singh Rakesh Rakesh Pahwa, Vichitra Singh, Shanti Gautam, Umesh Dhiman, Kavita Sharma, Mohit Mahajan, Anil Kumar etc. A large number of journalists were present.
