Shiva Mahapuran Katha Commences with Kalash Yatra in Madipur Village

New Delhi: The Shiva Mahapuran Katha, a week-long religious discourse, was inaugurated with a grand Kalash Yatra in the pukka chaupal of Madipur village. On the auspicious morning, hundreds of women devotees carried kalash (holy pots) from the Shri Shyam Mandir, Madipur, and performed a circumambulation amidst the sounds of traditional music, before installing them at the venue.Addressing the gathering on the first day, renowned spiritual leader Praveen Dixit Maharaj, who had arrived from Kokilavan, Mathura, highlighted the significance of the Shiva Purana. After performing the puja of the sacred text, he stated, “By listening to the Shiva Mahapurana, a person is liberated from all sins and enjoys the highest pleasures in this life, ultimately attaining the divine abode of Lord Shiva.”Dixit Maharaj further elaborated that the Shiva Purana comprises 24,000 verses and is divided into seven sections. He urged devotees to listen to this sacred text with devotion, knowledge, and detachment. “This divine Shiva Purana, consisting of seven sections, is equivalent to the Supreme Brahman and bestows the highest spiritual attainment,” he emphasized.The spiritual leader continued, “Those who listen to this Shiva Purana without laziness and adorn themselves with silk garments, always remain happy. This Purana is pure and the essence of Lord Shiva. Whoever desires happiness in this world and the next should listen to it with reverence and devotion. This pure and supreme Shiva Purana grants all four purusharthas – dharma (righteousness), artha (wealth), kama (desire), and moksha (liberation). Therefore, one should always listen to it with love and recite it regularly.”On this occasion, the organizing committee, residents of Madipur village, and hundreds of women and youth filled the venue with chants of ‘Jai Shiva’.
