New Delhi: The renovation work of a section of the historic Pakki Chaupal located in Madipur village of West Delhi was formally inaugurated on Monday. On the occasion, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Kailash Gangwal and Municipal Councillor Urmila Gangwal jointly inaugurated the project by breaking a ceremonial coconut. West Delhi BJP District President Chandra Pal Bakshi and Madipur Mandal President Pradeep Yadav were also present at the event.
On this occasion, the Madipur Resident Welfare Association and the Chaupal Committee extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries. Association President Rohit Yadav, General Secretary Ashok Kumar “Nirbhay”, member Rahul Prajapati, along with Chaupal Committee President Mahesh Yadav and Treasurer Hariom Yadav, honored the guests by presenting traditional turbans, bouquets and ceremonial shawls. The local residents expressed their gratitude to the public representatives for facilitating the approval of the budget and initiating the renovation work.
Addressing the gathering, MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat said that preserving the village’s ancient heritage while undertaking development is a commendable initiative. She emphasized that a chaupal is not just a structure but a vital center of social and cultural life, and assured that every possible effort would be made for its conservation and maintenance. She also stated that development activities in Delhi have gained momentum after the formation of the BJP government and this pace will continue.
MLA Kailash Gangwal, in his address, said that his aim is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in society. He added that the renovation of the chaupal will strengthen the social fabric of the village and provide improved facilities to residents. District President Chandra Pal Bakshi appreciated the active participation of Madipur villagers in development initiatives and their contribution to social harmony.
Mandal President Pradeep Yadav said that since assuming office, he has consistently seen both the MP and the MLA prioritizing public welfare and focusing on accelerating development work. He described it as a privilege to work under such leadership.
A large number of villagers and BJP workers attended the event, including Sunil Sharma, Rajeev Sharma, Raghubir Singh Prajapati, Rakesh Beniwal, Rakesh Chauhan, Akash Sonkar, Narendra Atal, BJP leader Dharambir Thagela, Manjeet Yadav, Manish Yadav, Rajendra Rajoria, Kamal Yadav, former Mandal President Ramesh Yadav, Ramesh Bagdi, Hansraj and Sanjeev Yadav. The event witnessed an atmosphere of उत्साह and optimism, with residents expressing hope that the renovation of the chaupal will give a new direction to the village’s development.
