New Delhi: A grand felicitation ceremony was held at the Punjabi Bagh residence of Mohan Lal Gihara following his appointment as General Secretary of the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra. Gihara, who has been serving as the President of the Delhi BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha, was warmly welcomed by hundreds of party workers, office-bearers, and supporters.
Under the leadership of Madipur Mandal President Pradeep Yadav, Mandal office-bearers and hundreds of BJP workers gathered at Gihara’s residence to congratulate him on his new responsibility. The celebration featured the beating of traditional drums, presentation of flower garlands, and distribution of sweets, creating a festive atmosphere.
The residence was packed with BJP workers who raised slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”and “Bharatiya Janata Party Zindabad” to welcome their leader. Several senior BJP leaders, Mandal office-bearers, social activists, and local residents also visited to extend their congratulations and best wishes to Gihara on his appointment.
Expressing his gratitude, Mohan Lal Gihara thanked the national and Delhi BJP leadership for placing their faith in him. He said that the BJP has always recognized the dedication and hard work of its workers. He described the confidence reposed in him by Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra as both an honour and a great responsibility.
Gihara assured party workers that he would carry out his new responsibilities with complete sincerity, honesty, and dedication. He said his priority would be to further strengthen the party organization, energize booth-level workers, and connect every section of society with the BJP’s ideology and welfare initiatives.
Reiterating the BJP’s guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” (Together with All, Development for All, Trust of All, Efforts by All), Gihara said the party remains committed to reaching the last person in society. He also reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and empowerment of the Scheduled Caste community and other underprivileged sections through sustained organizational efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, Madipur Mandal President Pradeep Yadav said that Mohan Lal Gihara has been a dedicated and active party worker for many years. He noted that Gihara played a significant role in strengthening the organization during his tenure as President of the Delhi BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha. Yadav expressed confidence that Gihara’s appointment as Delhi BJP General Secretary would infuse new energy into the party and further strengthen its grassroots support across the capital.
The programme concluded with party workers presenting bouquets to Mohan Lal Gihara and wishing him a successful tenure. The event reflected enthusiasm, discipline, and organizational unity, with participants expressing confidence that his experience, leadership, and commitment would contribute significantly to the continued growth of the BJP in Delhi.
