RWA Chairman Pays the Price for Exposing Illegal Activities

New Delhi. In the upscale area of Paschim  Vihar East under the Outer Delhi District Police, crime and lawlessness have become so pervasive that even the police station head and beat officer Head Constable Naresh seem unable to control them. Residents are increasingly fearful of living here, as police complicity has emboldened criminals. A recent incident highlights this troubling trend.Yesterday, during an altercation over water being spilled on two children’s scooter, Arun Patni, the Chairman of the Resident Welfare Association (RWA), intervened to mediate. In response, a minor and his father fired at Patni, attempting to kill him. Fortunately, with the timely help of local residents, Patni managed to fend off the attack and deflect the gunfire, though a bullet lodged in a boy’s leg. The anger of the boy and his father did not subside; they fired again, making a lethal attack.Despite the severity of the situation, the police did not arrest the assailant father and son, and Patni was left waiting for treatment at Balaji Action Hospital. The station head and the investigating officer, who have been accused of shielding criminals, did not arrange medical care for Patni. It is noteworthy that just two days earlier, the RWA had filed a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jimmy Chiran  for outer District, accusing the station head of protecting criminals, which allegedly displeased the SHO. This complaint seems to have precipitated the brazen attack that occurred in broad daylight. The message from the station head and Head Constable Naresh is clear: anyone who raises their voice against them or their illegal activities will face severe consequences. It remains to be seen whether Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora or Outer Delhi District DCP Jimmy Chiran will take action. However, it is evident that criminal activity is rampant in the Paschim Vihar East police station area, and such crimes can occur with police protection.
