New Delhi :Humanity, sensitivity and collective efforts have once again proved that when society comes together to help someone in need, even the most difficult situations can be resolved. Eleven-year-old Isha Rahman, who went missing on September 7 from Nonhasa village in the Phulwari Sharif area of Patna district, Bihar, was finally found safe at a social organisation on Desh Bandhu Gupta Road in Karol Bagh, Delhi. The news of her safe recovery brought immense relief and happiness to her family.
In the search for the child, significant efforts were made by Vijaylakshmi Pandey, Founder-Chairperson of Jag Manav Jag Parivar and Supreme Court advocate, along with the All India Garden Council, Ratnesh Kumar, Zonal Secretary, AIGC South Central and South Coastal Region, Delhi Police, Bihar Police, Railway Protection Force, Government Railway Police, partner non-governmental organisations, media organisations and several social workers.
It was reported that as soon as information about the girl’s disappearance was received, Vijaylakshmi Pandey ensured that both a video message and a written appeal were circulated through various platforms and WhatsApp groups. The search operation was subsequently expanded, with concerned authorities and organisations being contacted on the basis of available CCTV footage and other information.
According to the information available, the girl had reached Delhi and was later brought to an organisation in the Karol Bagh area by a gentleman. The organisation is associated with the Jag Manav Jag Parivar and works for the care and protection of children. After the child was found safe, her family was informed, following which her relatives reached Delhi. The girl was subsequently taken safely back to Bihar. Her maternal uncle, maternal grandparents, parents and other family members heaved a sigh of relief and expressed their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the search and recovery effort.
The circumstances surrounding the girl’s departure from home and her journey to Delhi have not yet been fully established. It is reported that she left her home and later proceeded towards a railway station. Why she left and how she travelled such a long distance are matters that are being looked into by the concerned authorities. In such cases, it is important to await the investigation by the police and relevant agencies before drawing any conclusions.
AIGC Zonal Secretary Ratnesh Kumar expressed his gratitude to Vijaylakshmi Pandey and all those who supported the search operation. He said that efforts made for humanity, even under difficult circumstances, hold immense significance. Referring to an earlier case, he said that during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, efforts by the AIGC family had helped safely rescue three girls from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh and facilitate their return to Odisha. According to him, the present incident has once again strengthened the spirit of collective sensitivity and social responsibility.
After the child’s safe recovery, Vijaylakshmi Pandey did not claim the achievement for herself and instead credited the Delhi Police, Bihar Police, GRP, RPF, partner NGOs, media associates and everyone involved in the campaign. She said that when a message reaches the right people at the right time, it becomes more than just information—it can become a ray of hope for an entire family.
She said, “There is no greater religion than humanity, and no greater virtue than saving a life.” She emphasised that despite busy lives, people should make time to help individuals or families facing a crisis, simply out of a sense of humanity. According to her, sincere collective efforts undertaken with a noble objective can certainly bring positive results.
The Rail Parivar and AIGC Parivar also appreciated the initiative of Jag Manav Jag Parivar and paid tribute to Vijaylakshmi Pandey for her courage, sensitivity and humanitarian spirit. The entire episode has once again highlighted the importance of timely reporting of missing children, cooperation from the police and administration, use of technological resources and active participation by society in tracing missing minors.
Jag Manav Jag Parivar reiterated that its campaign to serve humanity and assist people in need will continue in the future as well.
